"Honestly from when we started, everyone is different and some companies will try to manipulate you to get your funding. Before I never wanted to live and had a Do Not Resuscitate protocol in place in case my heart failed again. I have now removed that protocol and choose to live as I am now in a much better place thanks to Good Shepherd Support Services."

Angelo from Good Shepherd Support Services is supportive, gets quickly in tune with interests and adopts a gentle, flexible approach to improving overall well being with an intellectual disability.
He set some simple goals to start and gradually expanded on these, encouraging reflection on activities and interests to provide prompts for two way conversations and development of social skills.
Angelo is supportive, gets quickly in tune with interests and adopts a gentle, flexible approach to improving overall well being. My son is often anxious and angry; however he connected and engaged quite quickly with Angelo, who he sees as a person he trusts and wants to share his interests with.

I had lost faith in my previous independent support worker because I was severely abused. It took me a long time to trust others as I was afraid of what they (support workers) may do to me.
It took a bit of time but I slowly started to trust my support workers, thanks to the dedicated team at Good Shepherd. I went from being supported once a week to every day now and now have the best team.
