FAQs about our Home Care Services

Please reach us at info@goodshepherds.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

No but we are currently getting processed to become an NDIS registered provider, we abide by the NDIS Practice Standards and comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct and support workers to meet all relevant requirements.

The short answer is, yes! Choice and control is a key principle of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). You can exercise choice and control by understanding how your funding can be used and deciding how it is spent. This includes who you would like to work with you.

Growing up with my nephew who has cerebral palsy and autism, as well as working as a Support Worker for almost 10 years, I understand both sides of the coin. Therefore, I have envisioned and cultivated an organisation where not only the participants are cared for, but so too are our support workers. This means that we take good care of our staff so they are not burnt-out or under pressure, optimising their work performance and resulting in happier participants. We are slowly creating a positive and supportive culture and NOT a quick buck scheme!!

Good Shepherd specialises in assisting participants with high intensity supports. We are committed to providing a high standard of care to deliver high risk supports to people who require high intensity daily personal assistance.

This includes supporting people in their own homes or in community health settings who have:

  • diabetes
  • epilepsy and high risk seizures
  • complex wounds and pressure injuries
  • medication administered by subcutaneous injections
  • complex bowel problems
  • a tracheostomy
  • a stoma
  • a urinary catheter
  • a ventilator
  • swallowing and eating difficulties (tube feeding)
